Can you fish in Crummock?

Yes, fishing is permitted on Crummock Water. You will need to purchase a permit and everyone over the age of 16 must have a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence. Day permits can be purchased at Buttermere car park (CA13 9UZ) and annual permits are available in the North Lakes office. Crummock Water is well stocked with trout, perch, pike and char. Please visit the National Trust website to familiarise yourself with byelaws and rules. You are welcome to launch your own boat, though the appropriate boat permit bust be purchased in advance. Motorised vessels are not permitted to retain the peace and tranquillity of the lake.
