At Skelwith Fold, we are hosting an amazing Bonfire Night on Saturday the 5th of November. The celebrations take place at our holiday park, located in the idyllic forest near Ambleside. Food Festivals
If you’re looking to indulge in some great food, the Lake District is the place to be. The region is renowned for it’s top quality produce and artisanal bakes!
One of the biggest food festivals in the Lake District is Taste Cumbria Christmas, which takes places in Cockermouth on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of December 2023. Cockermouth is just under an hour away from Skelwith Fold, and it’s a great day out from the holiday park if you’re planning on exploring Bassenthwaite Lake and the surrounding areas.
Another great option for afternoon tea fans is Yuletide Afternoon Teas at the Borrowdale Hotel in Keswick. These takes place every weekend from the 8th of November to the 2nd of January 2023, starting at half past 2 and finishing at 5pm. Christmas Lights Switch On
With 2023 almost coming to an end, the list wouldn’t be complete without Christmas Lights Switch Ons. These celebrations are very popular among visitors and locals.
Keswick will be switching the Christmas lights on on the 17th of November 2023 at 7pm. The celebrations begin at 10am, with festive food and market stalls. In the late afternoon there will be live entertainment to get you in the Christmas spirit.
The Ambleside Christmas Lights Switch On is set to take place on the 18th of November 2023, starting at noon, with lights turning on at 6pm.
