Yes, they are – subject only to availability on your chosen dates. Are dogs and other pets allowed?
Skelwith Fold is a dog friendly park and pets are welcome in most areas, with a maximum of three dogs per caravan.
Please note however that dogs may not stay in our glamping units, with the exception of our Wagtail Hideaway which is dog friendly and can host up to two dogs.
Up to two dogs may also stay in our Number Three Cottage, but not in Number One or The Greenhouse.
There is a small charge per dog staying with us at Skelwith Fold which helps us to maintain the highest standard of stay for both dogs and people staying with us.
Please keep dogs on a short lead under strict control around all touring pitches, holiday homes and glamping units. Dogs may not be left unattended anywhere on the park at any time, including inside your accommodation. Please note that you are responsible for your pets at all time, including cleaning up after them and keeping noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing other guests.
We reserve the right to ask the owner of any dog which causes a nuisance or threat to remove it from the park immediately. We cannot accept any breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

All of our standard and premium pitches are hardstanding.
The hardstanding pitches are to keep the pitches available and clean throughout the season for you to enjoy your stay at Skelwith Fold.

Very much so. Almost all caravan holiday homes are made in Britain by one of around five leading manufacturers such as ABI and Swift. All of which recognise that quality is the key to customer satisfaction.
The standard of workmanship throughout holiday homes will be extremely high, and many traditional craftsman’s skills are used in the building process. Fittings, such as the carpeting, furnishings and kitchen equipment are all of excellent quality, and there will be a good level of insulation allowing the holiday home to warm up quickly when you arrive, and to stay snug with the help of thermostatically controlled heating.
Are the holiday cottages dog friendly?
Number One and Number Three Skelwith Fold Cottages each have available a large dog crate, bowl and basket and towel. You can bring along up to two dogs to stay at these holiday cottages (charges apply).

How are my interests as a buyer protected?
Skelwith Fold upholds all the codes of professional conduct and good practice set down by the British Holiday and Home Parks Association, the park industry’s official representative body. In fact, members of the Wild family (which owns Skelwith Fold) have been associated at a senior level with the organisation for many years, and helped lay the foundations for its policies of customer fair dealing, approved by consumer organisations.
When you buy a holiday home at Skelwith Fold, you will be provided with an officially approved written agreement which will help ensure peace of mind in the years ahead. Within the agreement will be the all-important assurance of tenure: the right, in other words, to occupy the holiday home pitch for a given period of time – which in this case is 14 years. Other areas covered by the agreement include the frequency and level of increases in pitch fees for which at least three months’ notice is given. We are particularly proud that the majority of holiday home owners at Skelwith Fold stay with us for many years (sometimes even decades!). The quality of the park has a big part to play, of course – but so too, we like to think, does the strong emphasis we put on maintaining excellent customer relations. As a prospective buyer or existing owner, you are always welcome to talk with us on any matter, and our aim will always be to provide an answer which will meet with your satisfaction.
How can I finance my holiday home purchase?
How can I find out if Skelwith Fold is for me?
How can I get the most out of my holiday home?
Although Skelwith Fold has holiday home owners from across the UK, we usually reckon that you’ll enjoy the best return from your investment by living no more than 2-3 hours from the park. In that way, your holiday retreat becomes easily accessible without having to face the prospect of a long journey. Having said that, Skelwith Fold is just a delightful half-hour’s journey from the M6 motorway – which puts cities such as Manchester and Newcastle within easy reach.

How can I get the most out of my holiday home?

Having said that, Skelwith Fold is just a delightful half-hour’s journey from the M6 motorway – which puts cities such as Manchester and Newcastle within easy reach.

If you would like to prop open the door, simply open the door all the way and gently push into the catch. To release, gently pull the door free of the catch to close.
How to put away the sofa bed
To put away the sofa bed and set up the sofa again, lift the bottom of the mattress up and walk it towards the head of the bed, folding in the first leg and sliding the wooden plank back on top. Lift the handle now nearest you up and away from you, and slide the mattress back down into the base of the sofa. You can now replace the seat cushions. To ensure the corner cushion is the correct position, look for the triangle pattern on one corner of this cushion and have this towards you as you replace this.
How to reset the fuse box
On rare occasions, the electricity may trip off. If this happens, check the fuse box which is located behind the mirror in the back bedroom/dining room. If any of the switches are in the ‘down’ position, flick these back up into the ‘on’ position.
If this does not resolve the issue or if the problem repeats, please contact reception on 015394 32277 during office hours or the Warden’s emergency phone 07513 040186 out of hours.

Please take great care doing this as the bed is heavy – we do not recommend allowing minors to attempt this. Rest the base on the floor. The small side cushions can be placed at the end of the bed or tucked down the side, but remember to remove these again when putting the bed away.
How to set up the sofa bed
Firstly, remove all the back cushions from the sofa out of the way and then the seating cushions. To unfold the bed, lift up the bar indicated and pull towards you until the leg is resting on the floor. Then pull the second leg up and out towards you to finish unfolding the bed. To prevent your pillow from slipping during the night, we recommend placing two of the seating cushions in the gap behind the bed.
Clean linen can be found under the right hand side of the sofa.
