Located in Ambleside, in the heart of Lake District, we are an independent, family run, Café and Bakery. Since its opening in 1975 The Apple Pie has grown in size and popularity, but they still keep our traditional values at heart, serving fresh and quality products every day to regular visitors, passing tourists and loyal locals.

The Apple Pie has been run by the Fielding family for almost 50 years. Now on to their third generation of bakers, the Apple Pie offers an array of freshly baked bread, cakes and pies as well as serving delicious homemade food in their busy café.

Not one to rest on their laurels, Simon and Richard Fielding, along with the rest of the team, have continued to experiment with new recipes and processes to now offer a range of sourdough loaves, gluten free bread and doughnuts, alongside the Apple Pie classics such as their famous Bath Buns and of course both their spiced and simple apple pie.

At its roots, The Apple Pie is a locally orientated, family run business. They keep this ethos at the heart of everything they do – and that includes sourcing quality ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible. As an independent business, they know how important it is to support the businesses around them.
