Skelwith Fold is one of the best caravan and glamping parks in the Lake District. It is situated in a secluded woodland location on the outskirts of Ambleside and boasts a wide selection of self-catering accommodation. Our holiday park makes a great staycation destination in Cumbria, suitable for families and couples looking for a tranquil retreat. We’re delighted to welcome caravan and motorhome guests to our award-winnings site. We also have a selection of glamping accommodation and luxury holiday cottages to hire.

Our Holiday Cottages in Ambleside are perfect for families who are looking for a luxurious accommodation in the heart of Cumbria: our cottages are furnished to the highest of standards – they come with private gardens, a BBQ area and a modern hot tub to relax and unwind! Our Greenhouse is perfect for large groups and guests with mobility issues looking for accommodation in the Lake District.

Motorhomes & Touring

Skelwith Fold has a wide selection of motorhome and touring pitches to choose from – all set in idyllic locations around the park. They offer fantastic views of the surrounding landscape and provide a tranquil place to relax and unwind. There are two pitch types on offer – standard and premium (electric hook up available and is chargeable).

Glamping

Our glamping accommodation is the perfect option for guests looking to experience the great outdoors in a unique way. All of our glamping units are finished to a high standard with a cosy interior and private verandahs for dining alfresco. We have 3 types of glamping accommodation to choose from: Hideaway Pods, Safari Tents and a Family Hideaway Pod.

Holiday Cottages

We have 3 self catering holiday cottages available to hire on the outskirts of the park. 2 of the cottages are traditional stone properties with stunning gardens, whilst the 3rd was purpose built and can sleep up to 16! All of the properties have been tastefully decorated with luxury furnishings and private hot tubs.

Dog Friendly Holiday Park in the Lake District

We are a proud dog friendly park in the Lake District! We understand how important furry friends are to our guests and how complicated it can be to go on holiday without your pets. This is why two of our luxury cottages are dog friendly and come with a large dog and a 95cm plastic dog bed: choose from Cottage Number One or Cottage Number Three. One of our family glamping pods is also dog friendly, alternatively if you’re visiting us with your motorhome, you’re allowed up to 3 dogs.

We also have a lot of space around the park for dogs to enjoy, however we kindly asks our guests that all dogs are kept on a lead while they’re on the park’s premises. There are plenty of woodland walks around Skelwith Folds for guests and their furry friends to enjoy! If you’re out and about with your four legged friend, here’s a list of dog friendly pubs in the Lake District.
