How are my interests as a buyer protected?
Skelwith Fold upholds all the codes of professional conduct and good practice set down by the British Holiday and Home Parks Association, the park industry’s official representative body. In fact, members of the Wild family (which owns Skelwith Fold) have been associated at a senior level with the organisation for many years, and helped lay the foundations for its policies of customer fair dealing, approved by consumer organisations.
When you buy a holiday home at Skelwith Fold, you will be provided with an officially approved written agreement which will help ensure peace of mind in the years ahead. Within the agreement will be the all-important assurance of tenure: the right, in other words, to occupy the holiday home pitch for a given period of time – which in this case is 14 years. Other areas covered by the agreement include the frequency and level of increases in pitch fees for which at least three months’ notice is given. We are particularly proud that the majority of holiday home owners at Skelwith Fold stay with us for many years (sometimes even decades!). The quality of the park has a big part to play, of course – but so too, we like to think, does the strong emphasis we put on maintaining excellent customer relations. As a prospective buyer or existing owner, you are always welcome to talk with us on any matter, and our aim will always be to provide an answer which will meet with your satisfaction.

How to convert the bed into the sofa
When you arrive at your Hideaway, you will find your bed ready made for you. To convert the bed to a sofa, first remove the blue and brown cushions. Secure the pillows and the foot of the bed using the straps found under the bed. Then use the handle at the foot of the bed to lift the bed up into the wall, where it will lock into place with a click. This will reveal the sofa underneath – place the cushions back onto the sofa.

How to fold up the main bed
To fold up the bed, first place the straps over the mattress. These are found tucked around the side and underneath. Then lift the handle in the middle at the front of the bed, and continue to lift as you walk the mattress into the wall. Please take care during this procedure as the bed is heavy – we do not recommend allowing a minor to attempt this. Lock the bed into place using the dial on the left hand side – turn this towards you and push it in to secure the bed into the upright position.

Why should I choose Skelwith Fold?
Skelwith Fold is one of the best places to own a caravan holiday home in the Lake District. Our caravan park’s stunning location is very exclusive, as it’s secluded but also very well connected to all nearby amenities. Our holiday homes are settled amongst natural features, creating a sense of peace and quiet that can be difficult to achieve at larger, busier parks.
We’re continuously improving our facilities, to provide an excellent experience to our guests. For example, we reopened our play area in 2019 after a £100,000 investment, giving a modern and safe playground area to children.
Our idyllic caravan park has been rated 5 star, and we pride ourselves in excellent customer service. Our team is friendly, approachable, and ready to answer any query you may have.
