Please note: the video below gives you a look inside our intimate two-berth Hideaway glamping pods – but please be aware that we have relocated our Glamping Pods since the video was taken. The pods now sit in a secluded part of the park.

FAQs

What time can we check in for our glamping stay?

You can check in between 4pm and 9pm.

If you are likely to arrive later, please inform Reception prior to your arrival to allow for arrangements to be made.

Can our friends and family visit us?

Of course, friends and family are more than welcome to visit! We are delighted to welcome new visitors at Skelwith. We ask that all visitors please sign in at Reception on arrival.

Are dogs and other pets allowed?

Skelwith Fold is a dog friendly park and pets are welcome in most areas, with a maximum of three dogs per touring caravan/motorhome.

Please note however, that dogs may not stay in our glamping units, with the exception of our Wagtail Hideaway which is dog friendly and can host up to two dogs.

Up to two dogs may also stay in both our holiday cottages, No.1 and No.3. We provide a large dog crate, bowl and basket and towel.

There is a small charge per dog staying with us at Skelwith Fold which helps to maintain the highest standard of stay for both dogs and people staying with us.

Please keep dogs on a short lead under strict control around all touring pitches, holiday homes and glamping units. Dogs may not be left unattended anywhere on the park at any time, including inside your accommodation. Please note that you are responsible for your pets at all time, including cleaning up after them and keeping noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing other guests.

We reserve the right to ask the owner of any dog which causes a nuisance or threat to remove it from the park immediately. We cannot accept any breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

What time can I arrive at our glamping pod, and what is the departure time?

You can check in from 4pm to 9pm on the date of your arrival. Please check in with our reception team who will give you arrival information and your key. If you believe you may arrive after 9pm please call Reception in advance on 015394 32277 to make arrangements for your arrival.

For touring customers, our shower blocks have hairdryers available inside which are free to use.

Can we have a barbecue?

Barbecues are permitted, but we ask that you not place them directly onto the ground, decking or picnic benches as this may cause damage. Please dispose of them responsibly.

Our glamping guests may wish to make use of the sheltered barbecue area located by the Family Hideaway units. Here there are frames built to hold a disposable barbecue tray which you can purchase from our park shop. Please leave this area as you would wish to find it. You may leave the disposable barbecue in the frames at this location for our wardens to dispose of.

If you are staying in the Greenhouse, a full gas BBQ is provided for your use.

What do I need to bring for my glamping stay?

We provide all of the essentials you will need for your glamping stay. Take a look at the links below to find out about what is included in each of the glamping accommodation units we have at Skelwith.

Please be aware that the Safari Tents are constructed from canvas. As such they may become a little chilly at night during the colder times of year. We do provide a large indoor Gas heater, electric heater and extra blankets. We advise that you wrap up warm at night for bookings early and late in the season!

Do the glamping pods have heating?

Yes, the glamping pods do have heating inside which you can set according to your own preferences.

Please note that as a canvass structure, the Safari Tents and Suites may get cooler inside overnight at colder times of the year. We do provide indoor heaters, blankets and bedding but please feel free to bring any extra blankets/dressing gowns you think you may need.

Do I need to bring towels to our glamping pod?

No, you do not need to bring your own towels. Towels will be provided for all guests staying.

Are your glamping units wheelchair accessible?

At present our glamping units are not wheelchair accessible and have steps to entrance. They are also not designed to accommodate the use of a wheelchair inside.

Is linen and bedding provided in the glamping pods?

Yes, linen is included and the beds will be made for you in advance of your arrival.

At the end of your stay, it would be a huge help if all used bedding and towels could be stripped and bundled together.

How do I prepare for leaving the glamping pods?

On the day of your departure, we politely request that you strip your beds and place the linen into the yellow bags provided. The mattress and pillow protectors may be left in place as we will collect these for cleaning separately. Please also place any used towels into the yellow bags. Once filled, please tie the bag handles and leave the bags on the decking outside.

Finally, please open all windows before leaving.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Do the glamping pods have an iron and ironing board?

No, but you can find an iron and ironing board in the launderette on the park, along with washing machines, dryers and a drying room!.

Is there parking by the glamping pods?

Our Family Hideaways have space for two cars each, no further than 30 yards from each of the glamping pods.

Our Intimate Hideaway has space for one car each next to the glamping pod.

If you need parking for more than one car, please contact reception prior to your stay and arrangements may be possible.

How do I open the windows?

How do I lock the door?

To lock the door, simply shut the door and lift the handle before turning the key.

Where is the draining board?

The draining board can be found alongside the fridge. This can be fitted onto the side of the sink, allowing you to place washed items on here to drain.

Once dry, this can be place back next to the sink to free up kitchen surface space for other purposes such as food preparation.

Can I have a walkthrough of our Hideaway?

Please watch this welcome video for you which will show you around your glamping accommodation. We have also tried to cover the most common questions here in our FAQs.

If you need any further assistance or advice, please contact Reception on 015394 32277 during office hours. Our Warden is available in an emergency after hours and can be contacted on 07513040186.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us at Skelwith Fold!

How do I use the TV remote?

You will find three remotes next to the TV. The ‘JVC’ remote is used to turn the TV on. The ‘freesat’ remote will change the channels. The ‘Samsung’ remote will operate the DVD player.

For more detailed instructions on operating the TV, please refer to the Guest Information Book found on the kitchen surface when you arrive at your Hideaway.

How do I convert the bed back into a sofa?

When you arrive at your Hideaway, you will find your bed ready made for you. To convert the bed to a sofa, first remove the blue and brown cushions. Secure the pillows and the foot of the bed using the straps found under the bed. Then use the handle at the foot of the bed to lift the bed up into the wall, where it will lock into place with a click. This will reveal the sofa underneath – place the cushions back onto the sofa.

To pull the bed down, carefully reverse the process.

How do I use the heater?

The heater can be found at the bottom of the right hand cupboard (as you face the bed/sofa). The top button switches between heating (left), cooling (right) and off (centre). The switches below control the speed of the fan and the temperature settings.

Do the glamping pods have patio furniture?

All of our glamping units have outdoor furniture to enable you to relax outside during your stay with us.

Please do not place barbecues directly onto the ground, furniture or decking to avoid damage.

How do you use the microwave?

Please refer to the guest information book for instructions on how to use the microwave.

How do I prop open the door?

If you would like to prop open the door, simply open the door all the way and gently push into the catch. To release, gently pull the door free of the catch to close.

How do I set up the table?

You can find the fold out table stored underneath the sofa. Slide this out and onto its side to access the legs. Press in the release catch on either side and swing the legs into position where they will click into place.

To take the table down again, place the table onto its side and push the release catch at the top of each leg. Fold the legs back in where they will again click into position. Slide the folded table back into its housing under the sofa.

How do I use the grill?

To use the grill, first open the door and extend the heat guard out below the oven knobs. To ignite the grill, push in and rotate the right hand dial. Hold the dial pushed in whilst pressing the ignition button next to it until the grill lights. Leave the dial pushed in for a few seconds after ignition before releasing.

How do I use the hob?

To use the hob, first lift the glass guard – if it is not fully lifted, the hob will not work. To ignite the hob, turn the relevant dial to the left and hold it in whilst pressing the ignition button. When you have finished, turn the dial to the right into the off position.
