Brathay 10 in 10 Marathon
The Brathay 10in10 is a unique challenge where participants run 10 laps of the Windermere Marathon course over 10 days. Starting in 2007, it was the world’s first 10 marathons in 10 days stage race.
Participants receive specialist training and running advice, access to sports scientists for injury prevention and treatment, and a training weekend in January. During the event, runners stay in luxury rooms, enjoy meals, and have access to therapists and on-course support. The event is supported by world-class partners, sponsors, and volunteers, including sports rehabilitation students and medical professionals.
The Brathay 10in10 Club recognizes all runners who complete the challenge. As of now, 174 runners have successfully completed the 10in10, with a total of 249 completions due to repeat participants. The Windermere Marathon course covers 42.2 km with an elevation gain of 596 meters, passing landmarks such as Hawkshead Primary School, the Devil’s Elbow, Newby Bridge and Ice Cream Mountain.
