Our self-catering cottages and glamping safari tents are finished to a high standard with cosy interiors and modern fixtures and fittings. April is a lovely time of year to participate in family activities in the Lake District. We highly recommend going on a walk around the stunning local area, such as the laid-back one-hour walk around Skelwith. This surrounding area of natural beauty really awakens at this time of year as the flowers and natural wildlife begins to remerge after the cold winter.

Alternatively, what better way is there to see the Lake District than on a boat tour? Spring weather is typically very mild, making the Windermere Lake Cruise an excellent day activity for your Easter holiday break.

Skelwith Fold Caravan Park is only an eight-minute drive away from Ambleside town centre, where you will find a variety of independent shops, a cinema and facilities such as bicycle and boat and watersport hire.

As a dog friendly caravan park, we have plenty of space around the park for dogs to be walked and played with, as well as the stunning countryside of the Lakes on our doorstep for longer canine excursions.

If you’re thinking of staying in one of our glamping units or luxury cottages, you don’t have to worry about leaving your furry friends behind! One of our Family Hideaway Pods, the Wagtail is pet friendly, and both Cottage Number One and Number Three accept dogs. When staying in our dog friendly cottages, we’ve provided a large crate dogs for you to use, as well as a plastic dog bed!
