Aira Force
Aira Force is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Lake District and a must see during your stay at Skelwith Fold.
The waterfall is located within an 18th century pleasure grounds with a backdrop of stunning trees and ferns. There are many routes to the waterfall with something for all abilities. Dogs are welcome, though they must be kept on a lead at all times.
Along the way, you might catch a glimpse of the squirrels, insects and birds that call the area home. Stop at the various viewpoints to take in the scenery and a photograph or two!
We highly recommend visiting Aira Force during the autumn and winter, especially after heavy rainfall. The water thunders down the rock face from a height of almost 65ft! It really is a sight to behold!
Aira Force Tearoom
Visit the Aira Force Tearoom to refuel at the end of your walk. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for you to enjoy a tasty treat or warming snack. If you plan on bringing your own picnic, there are plenty of places to enjoy it on the network of trails.
Pay and display car parking is available (free to National Trust members).
