Grizedale Walking Trails
The Visitor Centre at Grizedale Forest has a range of facilities such as toilets (including accessible and baby change facilities) and a cafe. There are five signposted circular walks from either the Visitor Centre or the car park on the other side of the main road from here, plus another three walks in the woods from other car parks around the forest. These range from an easy 0.75 mile route through the woods near the Visitor Centre to a more challenging 10 mile walk touring more of the forest and artworks installed here.
Bike hire is also available from the Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre if you fancy a faster way around the woods. Or for a forest experience with a difference, you could try the Go Ape high-ropes course which will see you scrambling around a course suspended in the air and flying along zip lines!
If you are exhausted after all of this fun but your children are still full of energy, you can always relax while they play on the adventure playground!
