Ruskin Museum
Originally founded in 1901, the Ruskin Museum is an amazing little treasure chest of curiosities which tells the story of Coniston from the makers of early tools in the stone age through to the modern age as typified by the daring exploits of former speed record holder Donald Campbell.
Named in honour of Victorian polymath and pioneer John Ruskin, the museum is set in the beautiful Coniston village between Coniston Water and the Yewdale Fells – and is well worth a visit every time you find yourself in the Lake District.
