The Langdales

The Langdales are one of the Lake District’s best loved mountain ranges and it’s not difficult to see why. This region is home to some of the most iconic views in The Lakes as well as a network of hiking and cycling trails.

If you’re looking for something a bit more sedate, there’s no need to worry – many visit the area to photograph the landscape or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. With a picture-perfect backdrop of mountains and valleys, you can easily spend a day or so taking it all in.

Hiking in the Langdales

The dramatic scenery is a natural playground for outdoor adventure enthusiasts looking for a fun-filled day out. Whether you’re planning a challenging summit or a leisurely Sunday stroll in the lowlands, the Langdales has it all.

Keen walkers can tackle the Langdale Pikes, which includes the Pike of Stickle and Harrison Stickle peaks. These hikes are on the difficult side, but reward hikers with panoramic views.

Food & Drink

The Langdales are not just about walking, the region is home to a number of villages boasting excellent country pubs and pit-stops – the perfect place to rest and refuel at the end of a strenuous hike.

Sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere as you enjoy a Cumbrian dish and maybe a pint (or two) of local ale!
