The Lap Ultra Marathon
The Lap is a 47-mile (75K) trail race held twice a year in the Lake District, offering runners and walkers a 24-hour challenge to circumnavigate England’s largest lake. This ultra-marathon is designed to be an accessible entry point to ultra-distance running, prioritizing safety and comfort. The well-marked route (with 2,500 arrows) provides stunning views and runnable trails.
Participants receive a GPS tracker, route map, and GPX file. Five fully stocked feed stations and a halfway bag drop aid station are available. Upon finishing, participants receive a meal and a locally made medal. There’s also a record challenge with a cash prize for beating the current fastest times for clockwise and anticlockwise routes. The race is supported by sponsors such as Dynafit and Mountain Fuel.
